Our Story
The Physics Dimension LLC was born from a perfect combination: a passion for science and a love of theater
Benjamin Segal, our Chief Demonstrations Officer and lead performer, has been captivating audiences for decades. Benjamin has been performing since 2000. His career in education began in 2005, with his presentation skills honed at prestigious institutions including the Flint Children’s Museum and Adler Planetarium. Benjamin was educated at University of Chicago, Northeastern Illinois University, and Northwestern University’s SESP, where he earned his Master’s degree. As an accredited physics teacher in Chicago Public Schools, Benjamin continued using the power of theatrical elements to make science concepts stick.
You may recognize Benjamin as “Beaker Ben” from his regular appearances on local news, where he demonstrated simple science experiments parents can do at home with their children. This experience reinforced his belief that science education should be accessible, engaging, and memorable.
President and CEO Christina Cutler brings 17 years of pharmaceutical industry experience to The Physics Dimension LLC. With a natural talent for community networking and communication, Christina handles the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep our science shows running smoothly. Christina earned a BS in Chemistry from Kettering University in Flint, MI in 2012 and an MS in Analytical Chemistry from Northeastern Illinois University in 2020. She has performed and worked behind-the-scenes in community and school theaters from 2004-2013 and is excited to be back in the performance space.
Benjamin and Christina’s journey together began in a local community theater production in Flint, MI in 2011. Their shared love of performance and science education brought them to Chicago, where they now reside in the northwest suburbs with their two young sons.
Together, they’ve created The Physics Dimension LLC as a place where science truly takes center stage – and where the next generation of scientists, thinkers, and innovators can be inspired.
